From Kyoto Station To Uji Campus

Take JR Nara Line “Local” train at track no. 8-10 to Obaku station : JPY 240 (20 min). Any “Local” train of JR Nara line goes to Obaku station.
Turn right at the gate of Obaku station, walk along the rail road (150 m), turn right at the first crossing, go ahead (50 m), and you can see the north gate of campus.
Typically it takes 30 min from Kyoto Station to Uji Campus.

Take the JR Kansai Airport Express “Haruka” train to Kyoto station. (every 30 min). (Total 2 hours)
A reduced-fare ticket “ICOCA & Haruka” for a short term stay foreigner is available at Kansai Airport Station (JPY 3,800 for one-way, JPY 5,600 for round trip, including Haruka limited express fee and ICOCA e-Money of JPY 1,500).
