Talent-Spot 2023 Supported by Sakura Science Program

The Sakura Science Program is an exchange program of the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) that gives young people the opportunity to experience both Japan’s cutting-edge science and technology and culture. Through this program, the Institute for Chemical Research accepted seven undergraduate and master’s students from University of Colombo, a top university in Sri Lanka, for one week in November. The students received daily meticulous guidance in a laboratory of their choice and experienced experiments using state-of-the-art equipment. They also interacted with young researchers and faculty members of ICR from a wide range of fields through the meetings. As a result, they were able to expand their international network beyond their own fields. We look forward to their future, as they expressed their interest to study at Kyoto University.
