【ICR Weeks】The 3rd KU-UNIST Joint Symposium on Chemistry and Materials Science held (November 7-9)
On November 7-9, 2024, the international symposium “The 3rd KU-UNIST Joint Symposium on Chemistry and Materials Science,” hosted by Prof. OHKI, Yasuhiro (Organometallic Chemistry), was held at the Uji Campus as a part of the ICR Weeks.
Kyoto University (KU) and the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST) in Korea have been engaging in research exchanges in the field of chemistry every two years.
This year’s symposium featured 11 chemists from each university, presenting cutting-edge research findings, challenges, and future prospects in their respective fields. From the ICR, Prof. OHKI, Yasuhiro, Prof. MURATA, Yasujiro (Structural Organic Chemistry), and TERANISHI, Toshiharu (Advanced Inorganic Synthesis) gave lectures.
During the sessions, lively discussions were carried out on a wide range of topics, including devices, nanotechnology, coordination chemistry, polymer chemistry, biochemistry, and organic chemistry. The symposium provided an excellent opportunity to foster cross-disciplinary networks, making it a highly meaningful event.
