International workshop for emerging technologies and perspectives in lake microbial ecology 2024

On August 2, an international workshop, titled “Workshop for Emerging Technologies and Perspectives in Lake Microbial Ecology” was held at ICR, Uji Campus, hosted by Assistant Professor Yusuke Okazaki from the Ogata laboratory (Chemical Life Science).
Supported by the Institute for Chemical Research International Joint Usage/Research, ETH Zurich Leading House Asia Research Partnership Grants and Kyoto University 125th Anniversary Fund Kusunoki 125, the workshop featured 16 outstanding presentations given by professors and researchers from Switzerland, Korea, Waseda University, Ritsumeikan University, and Kyoto University’s Center for Ecological Research. Participants shared cutting-edge knowledge, including advanced microbial ecology research being conducted in Lake Zurich and Lake Biwa.
