Kyoto University Shanghai Lab held “Kyoto University Chemistry Talent-Spot Shanghai 2020” on Dec. 20th, 2020. Unlike the past event series in Manila, Hanoi and Ulaanbaatar, the event was convened online for the first time as a proactive strategy to recruit top talents from the region amid the pandemic. Twenty shortlisted students were invited to attend tutorial lectures and one-on-one interviews with ten ICR professors. Students enjoyed communicating directly with professors, and the event helped them target their potential supervisors. They seemed to be more motivated to study at Kyoto University in the future through the event.
